Virat Kohli is one of, if the not the most over-rated cricket player on the planet. Now before you get angry let me make one thing crystal clear: Yes, I do firmly believe VK is a very talented player with a lot of skill and is Top10 in the world right now and will be Top10 of all time for INDIAN batters. However he is still extremely over-rated.

Being overated is simple: The athlete is predominately held by his fans in a regard that is greater than that of his true skill. The reason I state Virat Kohli is the most over-rated player is simple. Indian Fans and those that are VK fans hold him as being the best in the world right now and some even hold him as being the best ever. They are stubborn and unwavering in this belief but their claims are simply not true.

One thing wrong with many VK fans is they ONLY watch cricket. To understand sports you need to watch many. You focus too much on stats and not nearly enough on form and CONTEXT. When you take a step back and clearly view everything at hand it is quite obvious that Kohli is not the best. He is Top5 test batting, 2nd test captain. Top10 ODI Batting, 3rd ODI captain. Not even Top20 T20 Batting, maybe 3rd or 2nd T20 Captaincy. He has a history of choking in big moments and plays significantly better in smaller games against small opponents and at home than he does against hard opponents and on the road.

Kohli is good. But not the best. So please Indian fans. Take a step back, try and get out of your blind and naive faith in VK and appreciate him for being a good player but understand he is not the best. WAKE UP
